All of these spiranthes were found growing in/along the Northbound ditch of rt. 49 West between Rome and Oriskany, NY. The average plant height was over a foot and the three tallest plants were approaching 24" in height. There was a little fragrance, and there were even honeybees trying to find pollen in some of the larger flowers. Some of the oldest, largest plants have ovaries developing quickly behind still fresh flowers. Plants and flowers are very robust.
